New classroom books

Hi everybody, we've got new books. They look fabulous and I want to read one. I haven't read a book called the Ice Garden. I don't know when are we going to read the new books. Here are photos of the new books in boxes they arrived in.

Swimming Lessons

Hi everyone, my class and I  have been doing some swimming lessons and they have been awesome. We did backstroke, free style, breaststroke and paddle board. I was feeling excited, here are some pictures of us doing swimming lessons.

This morning for cyber smart we looked at ways to keep our chrome books safe. We then created a poster showing some of the points. Here is my poster.

Painting a Picture in the reader's head

WALT use our senses in our writing to paint a picture in the reader's head.

Here is an example of my writing. Can you imagine the scene in your head?

I was in the dark, creepy, scary forest. I was lonely. I heard a sound a heard birds singing, animals stomping, but I fell and I hurt myself. I ran. I smelt something and even I taste something.” I smell fresh air, rotting leaves, animal manure I taste pollution.

Metaphors

WALT-Compare ourselves to other things by writing metaphors

We learnt how to write metaphors about ourselves.  A metaphor is a way of comparing two things.  You cannot use like or as.

I am a car zooming fast to the road.

I am a sweet cherry tree filled with fruit.

Zahrah is a red and blue rose with soft and pretty petals.

I am a juicy orange juice.

I am a sweet juicy grape filled with goodness.

Erase a face

WALT - draw using shapes and shading

We have been doing our erase-a-
face. Miss Scott was taking our pictures and cut out part of our face.  Then we had to draw the half back in. When we have done that Miss Scott put it on the wall.
