 Hi bloggers, today I will be telling you about my memories this year.

I have been at YMS (Yaldhurst Model School), for about 3 years now. I was about 10 years old, a year 6. When I first started here, I couldn't understand a single text, but now I understand every instruction I am given.

What I have learnt in YMS (Yaldhurst Model School) is how to be a YMS HERO, to have integrity, and to always be kind to others. I have learnt that I can learn from all of my mistakes, that practise makes perfect and it is always good to learn new things. I have tried doing all these things that I have learnt and trying my best to be a great leader. What I have learnt in Rimu (my class) is how to be a good role model and how to follow instructions without any help.

What I am proud of this year is doing my speeches because I am scared of talking in front of the whole class and it makes me get nervous. Although, I think I have done quite well because I have tried my best and have gave it my all. 

What I have enjoyed doing this year is getting to play a sport called Korfball. Korfball made me get more confident enough to show what great abilities I have and what I am the most good at. I think that this will get me to be more confident in anything I do in the future. I don't mind which sports I play even if I don't like it because all I care about is spending time with all my classmates and just having fun.

What has been challenging for me this year was riding a unicycle because it has been my first time riding it and it was very new to me. I am very grateful for having a chance to ride a unicycle because this is my only opportunity to ride a unicycle.

Next year, I will be heading to Riccarton High School! I am nervous but also excited at the same time because it will be my first year going to high school.

Te Wa Tuku Reo Maori - Maori Language Moment 2021!

On September 14th, at 12pm, Rimu, my whole class joined a lot of people from New Zealand and participated in the World Record Attempt for having most people speak Te Reo at the same time!

I have been reading about a girl who dreams of being a pop star, she wants to make her dream come true and hopes she can make herself a famous pop star. 

I know that is is short but it is a really great book to read and it is made for people to be inspired to never give up on their dreams. What will happen next...

I think it has a great cover because it is illustrated and is designed well.

This book, "Along for the ride", is required to be read by age 7-13, and they try to keep eachother grounded so they can be what they wanna be and what their dream is to be.

What I like about this book is how it is illustrated and how detailed it is. I also like how designed it is.

Student Summit 2021!

My name is Zahrah and this is all about Student Summit!  I have learnt many things about Google Forms in Google Drive! I really enjoyed presenting with my group! In my group I had Amelia and Stella!

My favourite part of the whole Student Summit sessions were where I got to present. It was actually my FIRST time presenting!

What I enjoyed at making quizzes was where I could create whatever I wanted to create and share with my friend, Amelia!

What I enjoyed at Biteable was where I could create anything and post it!

What I enjoyed at Presenting was where I could show and tell the instructions and work things out!

I had lots and lots of fun while doing each activity! It was really fun and exciting!

I actually asked my dad if he wanted to read with me in EPIC, he said yes! (He probably wouldn't of read with me if he didn't have time to. ) I had to choose the same book because I had no idea for a book, but my dad didn't know the book yet so that was good to be cleared! What I mean about Home Learning is not just regular, normal, common and BORING Home Learning that I am going to talk about! It's different than what I usually do every year! But if it's not regular Home Learning, then what kind of Home Learning is it? Well, I'm just about to tell you what kind I'm talking about! 

But first, I'll only give you clues about what kind of Home Learning it is. You can try and guess what it could be, the first clue is that it is a digital platform. The second clue is that it is used for reading, the third clue is that this is a site that has over 40,000 popular and high quality books to read. Have you guessed it yet?

Wanna know? Well, this is a digital platform that is called EPIC! This has an activity calendar to fill in to get points and badges! It's all free to do! What I mean by this Home Learning work is something that is fun, easy, exciting and an enjoyable thing to do at home. This is also something to do when you are bored at home or something.

Camp Series - Post 3 - Water slide!

Hi bloggers, welcome to my blog!

I'm going to tell you about what I did at Waipara Adventure Centre camp on day 3. This is my third blog post about Waipara Adventure Centre camp. If you haven't seen my first camp series post 1 or my second camp series post 2, go check it out.What I will talk about is what I did at the Water Slide.

If you have been to a waterslide, you would know what I'm talking about. Basically, it's like a slide from a playground, but it's more longer than a short slide. Can you believe how long water slides can be? Well, now it is time for me to tell you about my fun and exciting experience about this water slide I went on.

Things that I will tell you about this water slide, this water slide has no much colour than black, just black and it's meant to be wet and slippery (obviously). Water slides can be really long and sometimes even high but this water slide is cooler than other ones. Why don't you slide down to take a look in this slide.

In a photo, I was covering my face, but why? Because then it will be better when the water is coming towards your face.

Camp Series - Post 2 - Tree Climbing

 Hi bloggers, welcome to my blog!

I'm going to tell you about what I did at Waipara Adventure Centre camp on day 2. This is my second blog post about Waipara Adventure Centre camp. If you haven't seen my first camp series post 1, go check it out.What I will talk about is what I did at Tree Climbing.

If you have done Tree Climbing, you would know what I'm talking about. Basically, I just put on a harness, and I just climbed a big, long, high tree. Can you believe how long the tree is? Well, now it is time for me to tell you about my brave and awesome experience about the activity, Tree Climbing.

Things that I will tell you about Tree Climbing, Tree Climbing is really scary for the people that hates heights and are afraid of heights. But for the people that aren't afraid of heights, it won't be a problem for you. Tree Climbing has to have a long and high tree (Obviously), but first, it needs to have a rope that it is tested so it can be safe. Why don't you climb up the tree to take a look in this slide.

When I climbing, I was going to climb all the way to the squeaky bunny, but I decided to take a risk and do it all the way.

Camp Series - Post 1 - Swimming Hole!

 Hi bloggers, welcome to my blog!

I'm going to tell you about what I did at Waipara Adventure Centre camp on day 1. This is my first blog post about Waipara Adventure Centre camp. It was my first time that I had been at Waipara camp. 

What I will talk about is swimming. It's not any ordinary swimming, like a swimming pool, it's a swimming hole where you can swim in, of course! The water hole is actually a river, and the water is clear as crystal! Can you believe it? Well, now it is time for me to tell you about my awesome and fantastic experience about the water hole.

Things that I will tell you about the water hole, the water hole is actually really, really cold, like freezing. But when you swim in the swimming hole, it will start to get warm. The water hole looks like it's green, since it's clear then it will look like it's green because of the trees at Waipara camp. Why don't you swim to the slide to take a look.

What I've learnt and overcome was when I just jumped in first and worked as a group to try and win a race with two people on one floatie!

💦Pool is Cool!🐟

 For the last two weeks we have had Swim Safe instructors come to our school pool to teach us about water safety.

We were doing all sorts of things that keeps us cool in the water.

We practised things like backstroke, free style, dolphin dive and etc.

I got to wear life jackets and at the last day of swimming lessons got to wear pyjamas.

We also did a huddle in little groups (How to Stay Warm.)

Here is my DLO!

What I do at swimming is when I get to play a swimming sport that is called Water polo, after that we get to have a lunchtime swim for 15 or 20 minutes.
